Products & Services
Our chocolate is more than just chocolate; it is a unique experience with one of a kind terroir. Just like a fine bottle of wine, every origin offers unique flavor to discover. Venezuelan cacao has a long history of producing some of the World's finest cacao.
Ceremonial Cacao
Did you know that long before Europeans landed on the shores of Latin America, cacao was used by the native people for drinking? The area of Western Venezuela where our cacao is cultivated is one of the areas cacao originated from. Ceremonial cacao is chocolate in its purest form; made with intention from planting to finished product, using organic farming practices, superior grade cacao, and purchased at a fair price. At Chocolates Dalila we offer this carefully crafted bar, supercharged with positive energy and love, to do our part in honoring the indigenous tribes that first used cacao for drinking in ceremony. Cacao contains a mild stimulant called theobromine, that has mood enhancing properties, and other nutritional benefits from magnesium, calcium, and antioxidants to name a few. We genuinely hope that you enjoy this bar and prepare it with intention, so that it may bring you peace, love, and clarity while respecting the ancient history of this sacred plant.
Fundraising
Chocolates Dalila offers an incredible opportunity to raise funds and enhance the educational experience for your students through our Chocolates Dalila Fundraiser Program. By partnering with us, your school can raise $5 for every bag of our delicious craft chocolates sold. Imagine the possibilities - if your program has 150 students and each sells 1 bag, your program could raise $750. That's a significant contribution that can make a real difference in supporting the school's initiatives. Please let us know if you are interested in participating and we will guide you through the process!
Bars, Barks, & Couverture
All of our chocolate is hand crafted from fine flavored Sur del Lago, Vzla cacao from bean-to-bar with meticulous attention to quality, intention, love, and positive energy. We start by roasting the beans in a way that highlights the inherent flavor notes within the cacao. Then we crack, winnow, stone grind, and hand temper the chocolate for a very unique and special gastronomic experience. We have a direct trade relationship with our producer in Venezuela (Cacao Marquez), we pay above fair trade value and pride our selves on ethical sourcing of our cacao. The beans are organically farmed but not certified organic; Cacao Marquez is a small family owned business. The flavor notes we get are dried cranberries and an astringency similar to red wine. We know that you will love this bar and fall in love with Venezuelan cacao. Every year we use a portion of our proceeds to fund outreach projects in Venezuela.
Nibs
Our nibs are roasted to perfection using a specific roasting profile tailored for each type of bean we use. After the roast, we crack the beans and carefully separate the husk; however, minimum amounts of husk may still be present. All beans are ethically sourced for fair compensation for the best quality cacao. Our favorite use for our nibs is adding to smoothies, yogurt, granola, peanut butter, or honey.
Chocolate Spreads
Our Maracaibo Mud is a chocolate hazelnut butter spread. Our spread is far different in both taste and quality when compared to commercially available spreads at your local grocery store in that not only do we use superior ingredients, but the vast majority of the produce is dark chocolate and hazelnut instead of being mostly cheap vegetable oil and sugar. Our spread is perfect for toast, bagels, fruits, and drizzling over ice cream.
Farmer's Bars
The Farmer’s Bar was created as a special edition 70% dark inclusion bar using Sur del Lago, Venezuela cacao and organic fruits to directly support the Farmers that produce the cacao used to make the bar. Profit sharing from each bar is used to directly benefit the farmers that worked so hard so that you can enjoy chocolate from the best cacao Venezuela has to offer. This is a great way to not only enjoy fine flavored Venezuelan chocolate made in Texas, but also contribute to our mission to make the world a little better one bar at a time. Our farmers have done a phenomenal job under very difficult circumstances so this is how we can give a bonus for a job well done.
